We are seeking an enthusiastic Specialist Pharmacist - Technical Services and Clinical Nutrition to join our Pharmacy Technical Services team at Barts Health NHS Trust. This unique role offers the opportunity to combine advanced clinical pharmacy practice with specialist responsibilities in aseptic services, quality assurance and medicines governance. The post holder will provide specialist pharmacist expertise and support across Pharmacy Technical Services and associated clinical services within Barts Health NHS Trust. The role encompasses specialist responsibilities in aseptic services, quality assurance, release of licensed and unlicensed medicines, and the provision of clinical pharmacy services to patients requiring parenteral nutrition and other specialist medicines. The post holder will provide professional leadership and specialist pharmacist input to aseptic preparation services including chemotherapy, CIVAS, parenteral nutrition (PN) and unlicensed medicines. They will be accountable for ensuring compliance with current medicines legislation, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), MHRA requirements and Trust policies whilst contributing to the safe manufacture, quality assurance, certification and release of medicinal products. The post holder will also provide a specialist clinical pharmacy service to patients requiring parenteral nutrition and associated therapies, working as an integral member of the multidisciplinary nutrition team to optimise patient outcomes. The role includes responsibility for education, training, supervision, quality improvement, audit, research and service development activities, supporting the Trust's strategic objectives and regulatory compliance requirements. - Master degree in Pharmacy (Mpharm)
- Registered with General pharmaceutical council (GPhC)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, Advanced Pharmacy Practice or equivalent experience.
- Independent Prescriber qualification or commitment to undertake training within an agreed timeframe.
- Specialist postgraduate certificate in Technical Services (e.g. national course Technology and Quality Assurance)
