Job Description
Information about Maple Primary School
Maple Primary is a successful, happy and increasingly diverse school that encourages every child to be “Mindful, Aspirational, Resilient and Kind”. The ideal candidate will be keen to play an active part in the Maple community and be a valued member of the team. Maple Primary School is a popular and fully subscribed one-form entry school. It has a specialist deaf provision for 10 pupils where the children are taught by a Teacher of the Deaf. Our school was Ofsted inspected in January 2026 and proudly achieved a 'strong' standard in six of the seven areas.
The position would suit a kind, caring and committed person who is keen to help a child on a 1:1 basis in order to meet emotional, social and academic targets. Any experience of working with children with specific SEND needs in a school environment would be an advantage although not essential as training will be provided.

The salary will be on the H2 scale depending on suitable experience and qualifications of the candidate.
This contract is linked to a specific child with an EHCP. A contract extension would be subject to budget and school requirements. The role will start on Wednesday 2nd September 2026 .
The closing date for applications will be Monday 6th July at noon. A Selection Day will be held on Wednesday 8th July.
Candidates invited to attend the Selection Day will be asked to participate in a board or card game of their choice (e.g. Snakes and Ladders or Uno) with a small group of Year 2 children. This will be followed by a formal interview.
The successful candidate will be asked to complete a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure Application form and undertake an online health check by Occupation Health. Maple School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This is a fixed term position in the first instance, with the possibility of extending, subject to budget and school requirements.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged, please contact the school office for further details or to make arrangements
