Physical Education Teaching Role in an Independent School
An independent school in Stafford is seeking to appoint a Female PE Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that places strong emphasis on student wellbeing, participation in sport, and academic achievement.
Physical Education is an important part of school life, with students encouraged to participate in a broad range of sporting and fitness activities both within lessons and through extracurricular provision.
About the Role
You will teach Physical Education across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering lessons that include practical sports, fitness activities, and theoretical components where appropriate.
You will support students preparing for GCSE and A-Level PE, helping them develop both practical performance and theoretical understanding.
The role includes contributing to extracurricular sport, including fixtures, clubs, tournaments, and wider school events.
You will work collaboratively within the department to maintain high standards of teaching and student engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Teach PE across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver a range of practical sports and fitness lessons
Support GCSE and A-Level PE students
Lead and contribute to extracurricular sports activities
Organise and attend fixtures and competitions
Monitor student progress and provide structured feedback
Promote physical fitness and student wellbeing
Contribute to departmental planning and school events

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching PE at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 effectively
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to lead practical sports activities
Desirable
Experience teaching GCSE or A-Level PE
Experience coaching school teams
Ability to contribute to a range of sports and enrichment activities
