Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 2 SEND Role

We’re working with a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Clifton that is looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to join their team next term. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive school community that values every child and invests in its staff.

About the Role

This is a full-time, long-term position supporting a pupil in a Key Stage 2 classroom on a 1:1 basis.

The pupil is currently undiagnosed and awaiting an EHCP, so you’ll play a key role in helping shape the support they receive from the very beginning. This is a rewarding position where patience, creativity, and adaptability will make a real difference.

You’ll be helping the child to feel safe, engaged, and confident in the classroom, supporting both their learning and emotional wellbeing.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Providing consistent 1:1 support within the classroom
• Helping the pupil access learning in a way that works for them
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and family
• Encouraging positive routines, independence, and confidence
• Being a calm, reassuring presence throughout the school day
