The Role
As a Social Worker within our client's Family Assessment Services, you'll play a vital role in supporting parents while ensuring the best possible outcomes for children.
You'll lead the assessment process, providing objective, evidence-based advice and support to families while completing comprehensive parenting capacity assessments.
With a manageable caseload, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful professional relationships with families, allowing you to tailor assessments to individual circumstances and provide the best opportunity for positive change.
You'll benefit from dedicated Social Work Practice Managers, qualified social work supervision and ongoing professional support throughout your career.
In addition, you'll have access to specialist legal advice, bespoke training and continuous professional development opportunities within the social work service.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete evidence-based, analytical and comprehensive parenting assessments.
- Produce high-quality reports with clear recommendations to support permanency planning for children and families.
- Build positive, respectful and professional relationships with families throughout the assessment process.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and partner agencies.
- Ensure assessments are objective, child-focused and completed within agreed timescales.
- Maintain accurate case records and reports suitable for court proceedings.
- Promote positive outcomes for children through high-quality assessment and intervention.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A recognised Social Work qualification
- Current Social Work England registration
- A minimum of one year's post-qualification experience working with children and families
- Experience preparing high-quality parenting assessment reports for court
- The ability to complete robust, evidence-based parenting assessments
- A professional, honest and objective approach when working with families
- Willingness and flexibility to work across a number of family assessment centres where required
- Excellent communication, analytical and report-writing skills
