Admissions Officer - Phenomenal Secondary School -...

We are working with a welcoming and well-established secondary school in Birmingham that is looking to appoint a highly organised and personable Admissions Officer to join its administrative team as soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and a professional, approachable manner. The successful candidate will play an important role in managing the school's admissions process, supporting prospective families and ensuring that all pupil records and admissions information are accurate and up to date.

The Role

As Admissions Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration of pupil admissions, working closely with the senior leadership team, school office and local authority to ensure a smooth and efficient process for pupils and their families.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing pupil admissions, applications, transfers and in-year admissions.

  • Maintaining accurate pupil records and ensuring admissions databases are kept up to date.

  • Liaising with parents, carers, primary schools and the local authority regarding admissions enquiries.

  • Coordinating admissions paperwork, application forms and supporting documentation.

  • Supporting the organisation of open evenings, school tours and transition events for prospective pupils.

  • Ensuring all admissions information is processed accurately and in line with relevant deadlines and procedures.

  • Handling confidential pupil and family information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Providing general administrative support to the wider school office when required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is proactive, reliable and confident communicating with a wide range of people. You should be comfortable managing competing priorities and working in a busy school environment where accuracy and organisation are essential.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within a secondary school or educational setting.

  • Experience of admissions, pupil data or school office administration.

  • Strong IT skills and confidence using databases, spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • The ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

  • A friendly, professional and customer-focused approach.

Why Apply?

  • Join a supportive and professional school team.

  • Take on a varied role with genuine responsibility.

  • Make a positive contribution to pupils and their families during the admissions process.

  • Work in a busy and rewarding secondary school environment in Birmingham.

How to Apply

If you are an organised administrator with a keen eye for detail and an interest in supporting a secondary school, we would love to hear from you. Previous school admissions experience would be advantageous, although candidates with strong transferable administrative skills will also be considered.

Please submit your CV to be considered for this opportunity.
