Maintenance Worker

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Worker to oversee and execute maintenance activities across our existing maintenance team. Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, joinery, heating and general HMO property repairs. Repair or replace faulty appliances. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining operational excellence through expert technical support and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Assist and help maintenance team. Carry out HMO property repairs.
• Supervise maintenance staff, assign tasks, and ensure safety protocols are followed during all operations.
• Lead small teams during scheduled maintenance or emergency repairs, providing guidance and support.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts used, and system modifications for compliance purposes.
• Liaise with maintenance office manager to minimise downtime and coordinate maintenance schedules effectively.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Property maintenance experience, experience knowledge in the following: electrical systems & components, plastering, joinery , heating systems (troubleshooting only).
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Full clean UK driving licence and have access to a car/transport.
• Must be willing to work well as part of an existing team.
• Knowledge of HMO property maintenance is desired but not essential.

Further Information

Salary to be discussed dependent on experience. Work Time: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm week 1 and Tuesday to Saturday 9am-5pm week 2, rotating each week. The ideal candidate will possess strong DIY skills, leadership qualities, and a proactive approach to ensuring the smooth operation of all jobs.
