The Adam Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Vaccination Nurse to join our busy, friendly and supportive Nursing Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract , with the possibility of extension subject to service needs and achievement of programme outcomes. Part Time, up to 20hrs across the week. Flexible hours. (There maybe scope for additional 2-4 hours if experienced in childhood immunisation) Main duties of the job
As our dedicated Vaccination Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective and high quality vaccination services primarily to adult patients, supporting national immunisation programmes and helping to improve vaccination uptake across our practice population. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will administer vaccinations in accordance with national guidance, clinical protocols and local policies, while promoting the benefits of immunisation and supporting patients to make informed decisions about their health. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a caring and professional approach, and enjoy working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role also offers the opportunity for innovation, supporting the ongoing development and improvement of our vaccination service, ensuring it remains responsive, accessible and patient focused. The candidate will need to have a professional, caring, and courteous manner and have a person centred approach to nursing care. You will be an experienced Vaccinator and need to demonstrate excellent working knowledge of the Adult national vaccinations programme. About us

- To be responsible for the daily delivery of practice nursing clinics at a nominated site and working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled practice population.
- To work independently to provide and maintain a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to all Practice protocols, policies & guidelines, as well as to provide nursing assistance, where required, to other members of the primary healthcare team.
- To undertake a vital role in providing, leading, coordinating and evaluating care that is compassionate, evidence based, and personalised.
- To participate in the provision of mentorship, clinical supervision for all Health care Students and colleagues alike, creating an effective shared learning environment.
- Identify, manage, and support patients at risk of developing long term conditions, preventing adverse effects on the patients health
- Delegate clinical responsibilities appropriately to non-registered colleagues (ensuring safe practice and the task is within the scope of practice of the individual) and support clinical supervision of colleagues.
- Work in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct and Scope of Practice.
- Ensure accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients notes and on computers, as per NMC guidelines.
- Attend and participate in relevant practice meetings as required.
- Awareness of statutory protection procedures including referral and recognition of signs and symptoms of child abuse.
- Awareness of referral mechanisms for mental health issues, family violence, vulnerable adults and addictive behaviours.

- Knowledge of the wider spectrum of clinical care delivered in General Practice Nurse clinics.
- Excellent communication and people skills.

- Core skills of Wound care / ECG / Venepuncture
- Interest in an area of Chronic Disease.
- Trained in Cytology
- Lower limb care competencies, including Dopplers
- Awareness of national child and adult immunisation programmes
