Trade Operative

Dundee

£34,205 - £36,006 per year

40 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 16:30pm

We have an opportunity for a Trade Operative to join our Responsive team, based in Dundee. You will work in both communal areas and tenanted properties working with new and old stock, with basic skills in some of the following disciplines: painting, paving, fencing, plastering, and tiling. The role is mainly lone working but within a wider team of team of 9. A full training plan will be provided along with a company van and power tools to enable you to get the job done.

The role of Trade Operative – Wet Trades / Groundworker will include:

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with CDM 2015 legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to SVQ Level 3 in a construction, groundworks or wet trade discipline or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower-level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we will still welcome an application. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications.  Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
• Good communication and customer care skills
• Recent experience carrying out a broad range of property maintenance, repair and external works within a housing maintenance, repairs or construction environment. Experience in areas such as painting, tiling, fencing, paving, slabbing, monoblock repairs and general building maintenance
• This role will involve driving on company business. To drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
