Design Engineer – Downhole / Completion Tools
Location: Aberdeen
Type: Permanent
Salary: DOE
We’re supporting an engineering and manufacturing business within the oil & gas sector that is looking to add a Design Engineer to its Aberdeen-based team.
This role is focused on the design and development of downhole completion equipment, supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through to testing and manufacturing support.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce detailed engineering and manufacturing drawings
Support design and development of downhole/completion tools
Assist with prototype assembly and workshop testing activities
Generate technical documentation, procedures and reports
Review customer specifications and technical requirements
Support engineering calculations and product qualification activities
Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and internal procedures
Maintain drawing integrity and revision control
Requirements:
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or similar
Around 5+ years’ experience in a related engineering/design environment
Experience with AutoCAD, CADWorx or similar design packages
Exposure to downhole tools, completions, packers or oilfield equipment manufacturing
Understanding of API standards and engineering documentation
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
