At Nationwide, we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK-wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job, you'll be located at our nearest regional hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events in one of our office sites. This is anticipated to be once per month in London. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.
If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.
What you’ll be doing
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the rollout of new systems, processes and ways of working that strengthen how the organisation buys, manages risk, and delivers value. You’ll lead the planning, coordination and execution of transformation activities, ensuring milestones, risks and dependencies are clearly tracked and addressed. A core part of the role involves preparing teams for upcoming changes through structured readiness activity, impact assessments, and well‑designed training that makes complex information easy to understand.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to build trusted relationships, maintain alignment, and support the smooth integration of new processes. Using insights from feedback channels and engagement initiatives, you will help shape improvements to tools, processes, and wider ways of working. As a champion of change management, you’ll deliver clear communication, guidance, and support that enables confident adoption across diverse audiences.
The role also requires sound judgement and the ability to make informed decisions, considering both available data and the wider organisational impact. You will proactively identify risks, propose mitigation actions, and ensure adherence to controls. With proven digital capability, you’ll use Procurement and Microsoft 365 tools to support day‑to‑day delivery while contributing insight to ongoing system and process enhancements. Ultimately, you will help embed continuous improvement by staying connected to emerging best practices and bringing fresh thinking back into the team.
About you
For this role, you will have/be:
- Experienced in project delivery, process implementation or operational change in Procurement, supply chain, or similar functions
- Skilled at influencing peers and stakeholders by building relationships and understanding their goals and challenges
- A clear and confident communicator who can present complex or technical information in a concise, audience-appropriate format
- Comfortable with facilitating in-person and remote workshops, training sessions, and cross-functional discussions
- Capable of delivering quality outputs at pace whilst able to balance multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent attention to detail with meticulous organisation and documentation skills
- Proficient in using modern digital tools including Microsoft Copilot and AI‑enabled platforms
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite and Procurement systems
Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:
Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers’ shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind
Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think – we’re honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand
Push for better - We don’t settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development
Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes
You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
