PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY HYWEL DDA UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Ward Sister/Charge Nurse, on Bryngolau Ward, based at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.

Bryngolau Ward is a 15 bedded, Older Adult Mental Health inpatient ward providing assessment, treatment and care for older people with mental health and dementia related needs.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team on Bryngolau Ward, a specialist Older Adult Mental Health inpatient unit at Prince Philip Hospital. Bryngolau provides assessment, treatment and person-centred care for older adults with functional mental health conditions and dementia-related needs within a supportive environment that values learning, reflective practice and professional development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing care needs, planning, implementing and evaluating evidence-based care, and supporting the delivery of high-quality therapeutic interventions. The role includes providing clinical leadership, supervising and supporting nursing staff, contributing to service improvement, and working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, compassionate and recovery-focused care for our patients.

Main duties of the job

If you are passionate about improving outcomes for older adults, committed to delivering compassionate, recovery-focused care, and would like to join the dedicated team at Bryngolau Ward, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Interviews to be held on 30/10/2026.
