We are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join a well-established specialist school in Chessington that is part of a highly respected academy trust dedicated to transforming the lives of young people with SEND.

About the School

This specialist provision supports children and young people aged 9-19 who all have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Pupils present with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, social communication needs, learning difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, and complex SEND profiles. The school is committed to helping every student develop academically, socially, and emotionally through a highly personalised approach to learning, small class sizes, therapeutic support, and a strong focus on independence and life skills. Students benefit from a broad curriculum, dedicated wellbeing support, and opportunities to develop confidence both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to help pupils access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of SEND needs.
Support students with Autism, communication difficulties, and social-emotional development.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
Support pupils with developing independence, confidence, and life skills.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
Adapt learning resources to meet individual learning needs.
Record observations and contribute to pupil progress reviews.
Support students during enrichment activities, educational visits, and practical learning opportunities.
Assist with personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
What We're Looking For

We would love to hear from candidates who:

Have experience working with children or young people with SEND.
Have knowledge of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties.
Are resilient, patient, and passionate about supporting young people.
Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Hold relevant qualifications in education, childcare, health and social care, or SEND support (desirable but not essential).
