SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Barnet

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Barnet is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from September on a Full time, Term time only basis.
Working closely with pupils who have a range of SEND, you'll help create positive learning experiences that build confidence, independence and lifelong skills. The school is committed to providing excellent resources, ongoing professional development and clear opportunities for progression.

Daily Duties
• Support pupils with SEND across the school
• Deliver targeted interventions
• Promote communication and social skills
• Encourage positive behaviour
• Adapt learning materials
• Support classroom activities
• Monitor progress and celebrate achievements
Skills and Experience Required
• Previous SEND experience is essential
• Primary school experience desirable
• Patient, caring and flexible approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong teamwork abilities
• Passion for inclusive education
Safeguarding
This role includes regular contact with children and constitutes regulated activity. Successful applicants will undergo enhanced DBS and all relevant safeguarding checks prior to employment.

The post carries the safeguarding responsibilities outlined in the job description and person specification. Please note that this position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, with the relevant amendments (1975, 2013, 2020, 2023 and any that follow), meaning all cautions and convictions that aren't "protected" will need to be declared
