quantity surveyor / commercial manager Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a quantity surveyor / commercial manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Compilation of monthly financial reports for contracts and the Business unit;
  • Liaison with the Accounts department to manage Debtors;
  • Ability to review contract documents to identify and manage commercial risk/ opportunity and advise on tender qualifications;
  • Liaison with project management staff to ensure that all contractual correspondence, notifications and records are properly maintained;
  • Preparing applications for payment and invoices to maximise cash-flow and recovery;
  • Identifying and valuing contract change and administering appropriately;
  • Manage cost control across the projects and provide accurate forecasts;
  • Strong knowledge of NEC/ICC forms of and an ability to swiftly analyse and understand non-standard forms of Contract.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record delivering contracts on time and within budget;
  • Internal fit out specific experience, and au fait with the ‘fast track’ industry mentality;
  • Advanced IT skills;
  • Experienced in working within the US market;
  • Full driving licence;
  • Working towards or qualified with RICS, CIOB or ICES;
  • Ability to work as part of a close-knit team and manage numerous activities/projects simultaneously;
  • Bachelor Quantity Surveying degree or other relevant qualification;
  • Experience in Civil Engineering or ground investigation operations;
  • Positive approach to customer care and service delivery;
  • Commercial awareness and acute sense of commercial risk;
  • Good working knowledge of forms of contract currently used i.e. JCT / NEC;
  • Full driving license;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
  • Good working knowledge of standard forms of measurement. SMM7 & CESMM3.
