quantity surveyor / commercial manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a quantity surveyor / commercial manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Compilation of monthly financial reports for contracts and the Business unit;
- Liaison with the Accounts department to manage Debtors;
- Ability to review contract documents to identify and manage commercial risk/ opportunity and advise on tender qualifications;
- Liaison with project management staff to ensure that all contractual correspondence, notifications and records are properly maintained;
- Preparing applications for payment and invoices to maximise cash-flow and recovery;
- Identifying and valuing contract change and administering appropriately;
- Manage cost control across the projects and provide accurate forecasts;
- Strong knowledge of NEC/ICC forms of and an ability to swiftly analyse and understand non-standard forms of Contract.
Requirements:
- Proven track record delivering contracts on time and within budget;
- Internal fit out specific experience, and au fait with the ‘fast track’ industry mentality;
- Advanced IT skills;
- Experienced in working within the US market;
- Full driving licence;
- Working towards or qualified with RICS, CIOB or ICES;
- Ability to work as part of a close-knit team and manage numerous activities/projects simultaneously;
- Bachelor Quantity Surveying degree or other relevant qualification;
- Experience in Civil Engineering or ground investigation operations;
- Positive approach to customer care and service delivery;
- Commercial awareness and acute sense of commercial risk;
- Good working knowledge of forms of contract currently used i.e. JCT / NEC;
- Full driving license;
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
- Good working knowledge of standard forms of measurement. SMM7 & CESMM3.
