Salary Scale: £92 - £115 per day (Depending on experience)

Are you a resilient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)? Do you have the patience, understanding, and adaptability to respond to individual needs and help students overcome barriers to learning?

GSL Education Hull branch are currently hiring a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist secondary educational setting in York. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist support staff to provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support. You will help students access learning, develop communication and social skills, build independence, and manage the challenges they may experience within an educational environment.

Main Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Provide personalised one-to-one and small-group support for students with SEN, including pupils with a range of ASC profiles.
• Help maintain a calm, structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment where students can engage successfully.

SEN Teaching Assistant Minimum Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with different ASC profiles and an understanding of how autism can affect communication, behaviour, sensory processing, and learning.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
