Level 2 qualifications or above in both English and Maths (e.g., We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Learning Support Mentors to join our rapidly growing team. The Learning Support Mentor will play a key role in supporting students to build their confidence, develop essential life and employability skills, and achieve personal growth. Navigators customised qualifications of Level 1 Personal Development and Level 1 Employability, English, maths, vocational and non-vocational courses while fostering social inclusion and resilience.
The ideal candidate will provide mentorship, guidance, and individualised support to help students overcome barriers to learning and transition successfully into further education, training, or employment opportunities. By creating a safe and nurturing environment, the Learning Support Mentor will empower students to unlock their potential and prepare for the next step in their journey.

To provide 121 and small group mentoring and support to students in a community setting. To deliver academic core subjects, such as English and maths.
To act as a motivational figure for students, helping them build confidence and resilience.
To participate in half-termly training and CPD.

Skilled at making quick, informed decisions to address immediate challenges or changing circumstances
Proficient in building a rapport and trust to foster a supportive learning environment
Focused on understanding individual student needs and tailoring support to maximize their academic, personal, and professional growth
Committed to promoting inclusivity and supporting students with varying abilities and learning styles
Proactive in identifying challenges and implementing creative solutions to support student progress and engagement
Eagerness to engage in CPD activities to enhance knowledge and stay updated with best practices in education and student support
Relevant qualifications (GCSE/Level 2 Functional Skills English and maths or other relevant sector specific e.g. Basic English and maths delivery experience
Proficient in using technology and digital tools
A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle to travel to students' locations (with business insurance)
1+ years' experience in working with young people in an education or residential setting
- Holds a recognized teaching qualification (e.g. TA, HLTA, PGCE, Level 3 Award in Education and Training, or QTS)
- Previous experience working in a school or college environment, providing direct support to students.
- Familiarity with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and their significance in supporting young people with additional needs
- Ability to understand and work toward achieving the specific outcomes outlined in each student’s EHCP, tailoring support to meet individual targets
- Build a culture of trust where learners feel safe to express themselves and take risks in their learning.

Cultivate an atmosphere of mutual respect among learners, staff, and the wider community.
