Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist - Physiotherapy Service
£49.39k - £56.52k per annumWe have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled physiotherapist with an interest and passion for paediatric respiratory management to join our acute paediatric physiotherapy service. The paediatric physiotherapy team provide clinical care across all acute inpatient and outpatient areas within the trust.
This post offers the opportunity to work within a skilled MDT for our paediatric cystic fibrosis service offering advanced paediatric respiratory care. North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is a shared care centre for Cystic fibrosis with Addenbrooke's Hospital providing our in-patient, out-patient and home care to children and adolescents.
The post holder will provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice across paediatric respiratory care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to clinical decision-making, advisory reports and collaborative care planning for children with complex needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role involves close liaison with local therapy teams, families, and carers. The post offers the opportunity to lead and develop services across our hospital sites alongside leading on paediatric respiratory education for junior therapists.
The post holder will be required to participate in our on-call rota (adults and children). The Highly Specialist physiotherapist working with the Paediatric Therapy Team develops the quality of the clinical service and staff that deliver it. The post holder will work using an enhanced level of practice applying specialist knowledge and skills in the field of paediatric cystic fibrosis. They will act as the profession specific lead to support the training and development of the clinical staff within the Paediatric therapy team and wider multidisciplinary team. They will be responsible for the delivery of key quality performance indicators linked to providing high quality care.
Priority will be given to colleagues identified as at risk through the Trust's redeployment process.
Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
Evidence of post graduate training/qualification relevant to clinical area -paediatrics, respiratory and cystic fibrosis
Ability to demonstrate working with regional/national networks
Significant clinical experience within paediatric respiratory and or cystic fibrosis
Standard key board skills & the ability to use IT packages such as Word, Outlook, Power point & Excel
Significant clinical experience within paediatric respiratory and or cystic fibrosis
Experience of supervising and mentoring junior members of staff and pre-registration students
Ability to demonstrate working with regional/national networks
Evidence of current practices and developments within the field paediatrics / respiratory / cystic fibrosis
Flexible and adaptable to prioritise workload
Demonstrate self-reflective practice and experience of supporting others with reflective practice through supervision or mentorship
Standard key board skills & the ability to use IT packages such as Word, Outlook, Power point & Excel
Awareness and respect for colleagues, patients and relatives cultural, religious and emotional needs and beliefs
