Regional Business Manager North UK & Ireland

Abbott seeks an experienced Regional Business Manager to lead commercial strategy and a geographically dispersed sales team across infectious disease diagnostics in the North West region. This field-based role involves building partnerships with NHS and private healthcare providers, driving revenue growth, and developing high-performing teams across Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and parts of England.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional strategy to achieve sales revenue targets across NHS and private markets
• Manage, coach, and develop Key Account Managers, Business Development Managers, and Product Application Specialists
• Build and maintain relationships with clinical and non-clinical decision-makers in key healthcare accounts
• Identify partnership opportunities and implement marketing strategies to drive competitive advantage
• Ensure accurate forecasting, demand planning, and accountability of commercial team against targets

Requirements

• Significant commercial leadership experience in medical devices, diagnostics, healthcare technology, or life sciences
• Strong knowledge of UK healthcare market, NHS procurement processes, and private sector structures
• Proven track record leading geographically dispersed sales teams and delivering profitable growth
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic account management, contract negotiation, and complex stakeholder engagement
• Strong financial acumen, business planning skills, and commercial decision-making ability
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with ability to influence and lead teams
• Self-starter mentality with flexibility to work under pressure in fast-changing environment
