Cadet, Training & Competence Coordinator
At North Star, we're investing in the future of our people, our fleet and our industry.
As a leading offshore infrastructure support vessel operator, we play a critical role in supporting the energy transition across offshore wind, emergency response and maritime operations. Behind every successful vessel is a highly skilled, competent and engaged workforce.
We're looking for an exceptional Cadet, Training & Competence Coordinator to join our Learning & Development team and help develop future maritime professionals while supporting the skills, competence and workforce readiness that underpin safe and successful operations across our fleet.
Join a business that is investing heavily in the development of its people, creating career opportunities across one of the UK's most modern and diverse offshore fleets.
Why This Role Matters
Talent development is a strategic priority at North Star. From supporting cadets embarking on their first voyage to helping experienced employees maintain the skills, certifications and competence needed for operational excellence, you'll play a key role in developing the workforce that powers our business today and tomorrow.
You'll help shape future talent pipelines, strengthen workforce capability and support the development of the skilled maritime professionals who will power North Star's future success.
What You'll Be Doing
Every day is different. One day you could be supporting a cadet taking the next step in their maritime career, the next you could be working with operational leaders to ensure our workforce is trained, competent and ready to deliver for our customers.
You'll coordinate learning and development activities, support cadet and trainee progression, and help maintain the training and competence frameworks that underpin workforce readiness across North Star. Working across fleet and shore operations, you'll collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and contribute to the future capability of our business.
What We're Looking For
You may come from Learning & Development, HR, crewing, training coordination, workforce development or another operational support environment.
We're looking for someone who is:
Passionate about developing people and supporting career pathways.
Highly organised, proactive and detail oriented.
Skilled at building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Comfortable managing training, competence or compliance records.
Motivated by helping others learn, grow and succeed.
Experience within maritime, offshore, offshore wind, energy or another regulated operational environment would be advantageous, but not essential.
Why Join North Star?
Help develop the next generation of maritime professionals.
Influence talent development, competence assurance and workforce capability.
Work across a diverse and growing offshore fleet.
Support an industry at the forefront of the energy transition.
Build your career within one of the UK's leading offshore vessel operators.
Be part of a collaborative culture that invests in learning, development and continuous improvement.
Ready to Make an Impact?
Join North Star and make a lasting impact by developing the talent that keeps our fleet safe, capable and ready for the future.
