Behaviour Specialist | BS31

£92 - £95 per day

Some children need a little extra support to feel safe, understood, and ready to succeed. That's where you come in. Protocol Education is working with welcoming and inclusive schools in BS31 that are looking to appoint a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join their teams after half term. This is a rewarding role for someone who understands that behaviour is communication. You'll help pupils who may be facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges, providing the consistency, encouragement, and structure they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. If you're calm under pressure, passionate about supporting young people, and committed to helping every child reach their potential, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Be Doing As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning by: Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils who require additional guidanceHelping children manage emotions and develop positive coping strategiesUsing de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches to support pupils effectivelyBuilding positive, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and confidenceWorking closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement support plansPromoting positive behaviour, resilience, and self-regulationCelebrating progress and achievements, no matter how big or small This role is about much more than behaviour management. It's about helping children develop the confidence, skills, and self-belief they need to succeed. Who We're Looking For We're keen to hear from candidates who: Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needsUnderstand the importance of relationship-based and trauma-informed approachesRemain calm, patient, and consistent when faced with challengesCan establish clear boundaries while maintaining positive relationshipsAre proactive, reliable, and work well as part of a wider teamBelieve every child deserves the opportunity to succeed Experience supporting pupils with ADHD, ASD, anxiety, attachment needs, or trauma-related behaviours would be advantageous, but is not essential.
