Gilead Sciences seeks a Director of Medical Affairs Research for Oncology to lead evidence generation strategy across the oncology portfolio. The role involves defining research priorities, overseeing late-phase studies, and building external scientific partnerships to support clinical and commercial evidence needs.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute medical affairs research strategy aligned to Integrated Evidence Plans across oncology assets
- Serve as Medical Affairs Study Lead for sponsored and collaborative research studies
- Oversee oncology medical affairs research portfolio ensuring scientific rigor and compliance
- Build and maintain external scientific partnerships with academic investigators and health systems
- Translate study findings into scientific communications, abstracts, and presentations
Requirements
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or MPH)
- Deep expertise in interventional research, observational/real-world evidence, or implementation science
- Extensive oncology research experience in pharmaceutical or academic settings
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications and scientific authorship
- Proven leadership of Phase 4, collaborative, and Medical Affairs-led studies
- Strong understanding of regulatory, ethical, and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to influence across matrixed organizations
