MDT & Pathway Coordinator
£28.39k - £31.16k per annumJob overview
The Macmillan MDT team are looking for an organised and determined individual to help with the co-ordination of Cancer MDT’s and patient pathways. The MDT department at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust consists of 20 MDT & Pathway Co-ordinators who manage between them 36 different cancer sites and their corresponding MDTs. This role can have a significant impact on the speed and quality of care that cancer patients receive and therefore it requires a passionate and hardworking individual. Through effective communication and attention to detail, the successful candidate will help to ensure all MDTs run smoothly and all cancer patients are tracked accurately and thoroughly throughout their cancer pathways.
You should be able to work both autonomously and within a team as well as prioritising and organising high workloads in order to meet deadlines. You will be expected to cover other cancer sites when needed.
You should be highly motivated to learn and be able to adapt to change in a fast paced environment. You will be expected to communicate with all levels of personnel internally and external from the Trust and develop effective working relationships with all.
Main duties of the job
To assist with the running of effective cancer MDT’s. To proactively track patient pathways to ensure all next steps are in place to avoid target breaches. To work as part of a team and also autonomously to ensure all deadlines are met. To maintain accurate data through keen eye for detail.
This is an interesting and challenging role, with excellent developmental opportunities, bringing the post holder in touch with a variety of departments and professionals within the Trust and wider cancer network.
Please note that although we are adopted by Macmillan, we are employed by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The nature of this role does not involve face to face contact with patients. We have a post within the team that requires telephone contact with patients and may require cover.
