The role:

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Housekeeper to join our Orthopaedic Trauma Ward (Ward 23) team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent communication skills to become part of our friendly and supportive team.

In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by helping to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming ward environment. You will work closely with the Senior Charge Nurse, ward staff, and support service departments to ensure the ward meets national and local standards.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• This is a permanent role working 13.68 hours per week
• These hours will be worked Monday to Friday
• You will be based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital
• Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.

Key responsibilities:

You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming ward environment. Working closely with the Senior Charge Nurse, ward staff, and support service departments, you will coordinate a range of non-clinical services, including cleaning, catering, linen, ward supplies, and the reporting of general maintenance issues to ensure the ward operates efficiently and meets national and local standards.

You will also provide a friendly and professional point of contact for patients and visitors, offering information about ward facilities and services available within the hospital. Through effective organisation, communication, and attention to detail, you will contribute to creating a positive patient experience and support the smooth day-to-day running of the Orthopaedic Trauma Ward.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• An understanding of the importance of maintaining a clean, safe, and organised healthcare environment.
• A commitment to delivering a high standard of service and contributing to a positive patient experience.
• Relevant induction and mandatory training will be provided in line with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde requirements.
