We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join the team on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2026. You will play a vital role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs. Key Responsibilities * Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs * Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons * Support pupils in managing behaviour and emotional regulation * Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage positive engagement * Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans * Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment * Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies The Ideal Candidate * Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs (preferred but not essential) * A calm, patient and resilient approach * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to build positive relationships with challenging learners * A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people * A willingness to learn and develop professionally What Supply Desk Offers * Competitive daily pay of £85-£100 * Long-term, stable placement in a specialist setting * Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant * Access to CPD and training opportunities * Opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on young lives Safeguarding Statement
