Full time/Part time: Full Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm)
Pay: £105-£115 per day (depending on experience)

A specialist SEN school in Bury is seeking a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring individual who is passionate about supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex additional needs.
The school provides a nurturing, structured and highly supportive environment for pupils with a range of complex needs, including PMLD, severe learning difficulties (SLD), physical disabilities, communication difficulties and sensory needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide personalised support that enables pupils to access learning, develop independence and achieve their individual goals.
This role will involve supporting pupils both educationally and personally throughout the school day, including communication, sensory activities, mobility support and personal care where required.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality support to pupils with PMLD and complex additional needs.
Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
Assist with personal care, mobility, feeding and medical routines where required.
Support sensory-based learning activities and personalised learning programmes.
Use communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, objects of reference or AAC approaches.
Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and social development.
Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs, care plans and individual support plans.
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, nurses and other professionals.
Promote dignity, independence and positive outcomes for every pupil.

The Successful Applicant WillHave experience supporting children or young people with PMLD, SLD, complex needs or physical disabilities.
Be caring, patient and resilient with a nurturing approach.
Be confident supporting pupils with personal care and intimate care needs.
Have experience working within a SEN school or specialist provision (desirable).
Have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Be committed to supporting pupils' development, independence and wellbeing.
Have the right to work in the UK and be available full time.
Desirable
Experience using Makaton, PECS, AAC or other communication systems.
Moving and handling training.
Personal care experience.
Team Teach, MAPA or other positive behaviour support training.
Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification.
Free access to CPD and safeguarding training.
Dedicated consultant and ongoing support throughout your placement.
