Business Development Representative (BDR) - Existing Accounts

Base Salary £30,000. OTE Year 1 £45,000. Commission is uncapped.

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and client-focused Business Development Representative (BDR) to nurture and grow relationships within our existing customer portfolio. In this role, you will focus on maximising account value through strategic engagement, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and ensuring high client satisfaction to drive sustainable revenue growth. Unlike traditional BDR roles focused on cold outreach, you will be instrumental in strengthening long-term partnerships and unlocking new business potential within our current client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with existing clients to understand their evolving business needs and objectives.

  • Identify and qualify expansion opportunities (upsell, cross-sell, renewals) across our product and service portfolio.

  • Work closely with Account Managers, Sales, and Customer Success teams to develop and execute tailored account growth strategies.

  • Educate clients on new product features, service enhancements, and value-added offerings to drive adoption and expansion.

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions in the CRM (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to ensure seamless communication and follow-up.

  • Gather and share client feedback with internal teams to inform product improvements and innovation.

  • Re-engage dormant accounts and convert underutilised clients into active, high-value opportunities.

  • Meet and exceed monthly targets for client engagement, revenue growth, and retention.

Essential Qualifications

  • 1-2 years’ experience in B2C business development, sales, or account management (preferably with existing accounts).

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trust and rapport with clients.

  • Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement tools.

  • Problem-solving mindset—ability to understand client challenges and align them with the right solutions.

  • Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple client relationships efficiently.

  • Team player with a customer-first approach and a focus on long-term success.

Desirable Skills

  • Prior experience in account growth, retention, or expansion sales within an existing client base.

  • Industry-specific knowledge or familiarity with our product/service offerings.

  • Analytical ability to interpret customer usage data and spot trends for growth opportunities.
