AR/GL Accountant – 9-Month Contract

Working Pattern: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AR/GL Accountant to join the finance team on a 9-month contract. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid accounting experience who can work independently and contribute across Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and wider finance administration .

The successful candidate will also play an important role in supporting the team during the implementation of a new finance system, providing practical feedback during testing and helping ensure the system works effectively for the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the finance team with Accounts Receivable and General Ledger activities .
• Provide wider support across finance administration and day-to-day accounting tasks.
• Act as a back-up for the Accounts Receivable function in France .
• Support with invoicing , including processing and follow-up.
• Work closely with the wider finance team to ensure accurate and timely accounting processes.
• Support the implementation of a new finance system , including system testing and providing feedback on functionality and processes.
• Help identify issues and suggest improvements during the implementation phase.
• Work collaboratively with senior finance stakeholders and other teams as required.

About You

• Proven experience in an AR/GL Accountant or similar accounting role .
• This is not a junior position ; strong hands-on accounting experience is required.
• Comfortable working across both Accounts Receivable and General Ledger .
• Good understanding of finance processes and administration.
• IT-minded and comfortable working with finance systems and new technology.
• Experience with, or a willingness to contribute to, system implementation and testing .
• Fluent in French and English .
• Able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
• Available to work 4 days per week onsite in Brussels , with 1 day remote.

Interview Process

The process will involve three interviews with key stakeholders, including the CFO, Chief Accountant and VP Finance , who will have the final decision-making responsibility.
