Refrigeration Design Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Refrigeration Design Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Any other ad hoc duties that may be required from time to time for the smooth running of the business;
- Developing new product ranges as part of the Research and Development process;
- Maximising value engineering opportunities;
- Providing technical support and training to internal and external customers;
- Willing to learn and develop product knowledge;
- Attending meetings as requested and providing reports as required;
- Carrying out a regular review of the latest standards to ensure the Company meets the latest guidelines;
- Managing workload proactively to achieve objectives and ensure activity schedules are kept regularly up to date;
- Liaising with the drawing department to produce accurate working drawings for production;
- Dealing with and managing customer technical requests in a professional manner;
- Working on varied types of drawings from single line design concepts to intricately detailed manufacturing drawings;
- Keeping drawing schedules up to date for issued and received drawings;
- Updating Internal Shared Knowledge Platform with updated design information, changes to process methodologies;
- Managing refrigeration project installs in accordance with regulatory requirements, guidelines and codes of practice;
- Liaising with the drawing department to produce sales proposal drawings.
Requirements:
- Experience in installing refrigeration systems;
- Flexible approach to working hours with the overall focus of delivering projects on and on budget;
- F-Gas handling;
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment;
- Experience of fault finding, diagnosing and commissioning refrigeration systems;
- Working to ISO9001 quality procedures and CDM regulations;
- Strong understanding of production and assembly processes within a fabrication environment;
- Experience of developing designs from an initial brief through to project handover;
- Experience in design of a range of complex refrigeration process;
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills plus high-quality standards of written work and drawings;
- Strong commercial awareness;
- Experience of project managing refrigeration system installations;
- Strong two-way communication skills and approachable;
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
- Strong client relationship skills.
