Order Picker I is responsible for filling customer orders using a pick list and preparing orders for shipment according to company standards. Obtains merchandise from bins or shelves and ensures the completeness and correctness of all orders filled. Being an Order Picker I may operate materials handling equipment. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Order Picker I typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Order Picker I possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.

Responsibilities:

  • General warehouse duties;
  • Picking and packing orders;
  • Loading and unloading;
  • Order picking products by headset and accurately entering information onto the computer system;
  • Communicating effectively within the work place;
  • Quality checking products to meet Clients requirements prior to dispatch;
  • Checking the quality of products;
  • To accurately record information onto the customer order sheets;
  • Ensuring that working areas are clean and tidy at all times;
  • Fully accurate picking of beers, ciders, wines, spirits and soft drinks;
  • Other associated duties as required;
  • Picking of emergency orders when required;
  • Picking orders and packing them onto pallets ready for delivery;
  • Order picking cards;
  • Dealing with goods coming in and goods going out.

Requirements:

  • Flexible with working hours;
  • Must have a minimum of 1 years experience in a similar role;
  • Order picking experience;
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills;
  • Good organisational skills;
  • Excellent written communication skills;
  • You will have to work as part of a team and will be responsible for managing own workload;
  • Previous experience working as an order picker within a busy warehouse is essential;
  • Being physically fit is essential;
  • Heavy lifting involved;
  • Must have own transport.
