Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Network Engineer to work on the design and implementation of low-latency network projects within client data centre environments across multiple exchanges. This opportunity is working for a major Financial Services client.

Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.

This opportunity is based on site 4 days a week in Central London.

What you'll be doing:

You’ll be with working in a complex, multi-vendor environment, ideally including Cisco and Arista platforms.
Working in a co-location (Co-Lo) or data centre environment, including hands-on rack-and-stack, cross-connects and vendor coordination.
Design, build, and support high-performance, low-latency network infrastructure within colocation environments.
Maintain and evolve global WAN and cloud connectivity solutions.
Configure and troubleshoot multicast and low-latency network environments.
Implement and support timing solutions (GPS, PTP, NTP, PPS).
Deploy and manage packet capture and monitoring solutions; perform packet analysis.
Support exchange colocation connectivity for market data and order entry.
Drive automation using modern tooling and scripting.

What you'll bring:

Strong hands-on experience with routing and switching in a complex, multi-vendor environment
Solid understanding of core networking concepts including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, QoS and troubleshooting at Layer 2/3.
Previous exposure working in a CoLo Environment
Previous experience with Automation
