Let's be honest — most Head of Technical job specs read like they were written by a committee in 2009. This one won't. If you're a technically brilliant, commercially aware AV leader who's bored of doing the same thing at the same scale, read on. Things just got significantly more interesting….

Who We Are

Ten Technology Group (TenAV) is one of the UK's most respected commercial AV integration businesses. We design and deliver high-performance AV environments for clients across London and the UK (in fact 27 countries so far) — from complex boardroom suites and large-format LED walls to enterprise-wide video conferencing deployments and managed AV services under our TenUNIFY brand.

We're not a generalist IT reseller who happens to do screens. AV is our world, and we're genuinely good at it. Our clients range from ambitious SMEs to multi-site corporates — and they keep coming back because we deliver, then we stay.

Backed by the Kubus Group — A Bigger Stage

Here's where the story gets really compelling. TenAV has recently been acquired by the Kubus Group — one of the UK's leading PE-backed workplace technology and infrastructure businesses. This isn't background noise. For a Head of Technical, it's a genuine step change.

• A Full-Stack Technology Platform: The Kubus Group brings structured cabling, power, networking, and physical infrastructure to the table. Combined with TenAV's AV integration and TenUNIFY's managed services, you're no longer leading an AV team in isolation — you're the technical authority within a genuinely end-to-end technology group. The conversations get more complex, the projects get bigger, and the opportunities get more interesting.

• Technical Leadership Across the Group: As the group scales and integrates, there's a real opportunity for the right Head of Technical to extend their influence across TenAV, TenUNIFY, and Kubus's wider portfolio. This is a role that could grow significantly — and quickly — with the business.

• Better Projects, Bigger Budgets: Kubus's existing client base spans Finance, Hospitality, Professional Services, Retail, Healthcare, Government, and Education. That means more complex briefs, better-resourced projects, and clients who understand the value of getting it right. No more value-engineering the good stuff out.

• Growth-Stage Energy: We're in the integration and expansion phase — the kind of moment that shapes businesses and builds careers. If you want to set the technical direction of a growing group from the inside, you're looking at exactly the right moment to join.

The Role

As Head of Technical, you'll own the technical heartbeat of Ten Technology Group. You'll set the standards, lead the teams, shape the proposition, and make sure that every project we deliver is something we're proud to put our name on. It's a broad role — part technical authority, part people leader, part commercial contributor — and that's exactly what makes it exciting.

What You'll Do

• Set and own TenAV's technical standards, processes, and quality frameworks — the bedrock everything else is built on.

• Lead, mentor, and develop our engineering and installation teams, building capability for the scale ahead.

• Act as the senior technical voice in pre-sales: working alongside the commercial team to design winning solutions, shape tender responses, and give clients confidence from the first conversation.

• Drive continuous improvement across our systems, tools, and delivery methodologies — always looking for smarter ways to operate.

• Be the escalation point for complex technical challenges — the person the team turns to when something needs solving properly.

• Build and manage relationships with key technology partners and vendors, staying ahead of what's coming and making sure TenAV is positioned to benefit from it.

• Work across the Kubus Group to align technical standards and explore integration opportunities as the business scales.

• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, health & safety legislation, and best-practice installation guidelines.

What You'll Bring

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior technical AV role, with a strong background in commercial B2B integration environments.

• Deep, hands-on knowledge of the AV landscape — video conferencing ecosystems (Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms), AV control platforms (Q-SYS, Crestron, AMX), large-format display and LED wall technology, and unified communications infrastructure.

• Proven people leadership skills: you know how to get the best out of an engineering team, have difficult conversations when needed, and develop people over time.

• Commercial awareness — you understand that technical excellence and project profitability are not in conflict, and you operate accordingly.

• Strong communication skills across all levels: equally comfortable presenting a solution to a client's IT Director as you are troubleshooting on the tools with an engineer.

• Industry accreditations — CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, CEDIA, or equivalent are highly desirable.

• Full, clean UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.

Desirable (Nice to Have)

• Experience working within a managed services environment or alongside a service operations team.

• Familiarity with structured cabling, networking fundamentals, or physical infrastructure — useful as we integrate with the wider Kubus Group.

• Experience contributing to tender submissions or technical specification documents.

• Knowledge of relevant standards: ISO, BS EN, IPAF, PASMA, or similar.

What's in It for You

• Salary: £60–70k DOE, reviewed annually by the Board, plus a discretionary performance bonus of up to 10%.

• Private Medical Insurance: Full cover through our group PMI scheme from day one.

• Life Assurance: Cover at 4x your salary, giving you and your family real peace of mind.

• Workplace Pension: Enrolled into our Group Self-Invested Personal Pension Scheme (SIPP).

• Employee Discount Portal: Access to our company discount portal — savings across a wide range of retailers and services.

• Holiday: 25 days per year plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days with service. Please note that three days of your annual allowance are reserved for the Christmas/New Year closure period.

• Real Progression: This isn't a role that stays the same size. As the Kubus Group grows and integrates, the scope of this position grows with it. We're actively building the team and structure around the right person.

• A Culture Worth Working In: We work hard, we take quality seriously, and we actually enjoy it. Regular team events, a genuinely supportive environment, and a leadership team that listens.
