Mental Health Support Worker/ HCA (Permanent, Temporary, Part Time)

Full-time and part-time available. Harmless operates a 4-day working model with full-time staff working 32 hours per week.

The ability to travel across the region is an essential part of this role.
The ethos at the heart of our service is hope and that recovery is possible, and that with the right support and help, life can get better. To provide a range of clinical and non-clinical psychosocial interventions designed to promote the recovery and wellbeing of our service users.
To provide an assertive outreach approach across the region, to promote a preventative and early intervention to people of all ages at risk and groups of concern. This will include both direct client work and innovative outreach initiatives.
To work innovatively and collaboratively with communities of need to promote health and recovery amongst individuals by using and demonstrating a range of non-clinical interventions that promote coping and resilience and that overcome crisis.
To proactively and innovatively promote and improve access to Harmless’ psychological care and support services.
To support the recovery of service users by engaging in activities and practical support that will improve the quality of life, for instance, support employment, social engagement, advocacy, and housing.
To ensure that clients are engaged in the appropriate external services and partners to meet their longer-term support needs.
To meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) on both an individual and service level.
To coordinate, where necessary, a safeguarding response in line with local practices and services to ensure that an individual is safe and has a coordinated package of care to ensure they survive their crisis in the most helpful manner for them.
To support the Service leads to uphold the short-term, medium-term, and long-term organisational and the clinical and support team's objectives.
To undertake collaborative multidisciplinary work to uphold safety and support for the communities of need, e.g. working with school staff, mental health staff or peers to ensure they are contained by well-informed communities.
To uphold and assist referral pathways for service users and reduce stigma associated with seeking help for self harm, suicide crisis and suicide bereavement and/or working with other services to promote the most effective care package for the individual.
Willingness to travel and flexibility to meet the demands of the business are essential. Candidates must either be able to drive and have access to a car or be willing to access alternative means of transport (e.g., Quality: A track record for upholding the highest standards of service provision and organisational performance, informed by the needs of our stakeholders and service users. (Building Relationships: A history of building effective relationships and maintaining key stakeholder engagement. (Knowledge and experience within the field of mental health, self harm and suicide prevention, including policy on both a local and national level. (Data and insights focus: Ability to read and use data and/or evidence to make informed decisions, measure success, and monitor performance in line with organisational priorities.
