Job Type: Temporary, Full-time
13 per hour.
Working Hours: 9am till 5pm (Office Based).
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working Customer Service Officer to join Bolton Council's Parking Services. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in customer service who is adept at handling complex queries and administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Handle incoming telephone calls for parking services, ensuring effective communication and high-quality customer service.
Respond to enquiries and complaints from customers, including those who may be irate or upset, both over the phone and in writing. Record all relevant information on a dedicated computer system with full regard to legislation relating to Civil Parking Enforcement.
Ensure decisions are fair, consistent, and in line with relevant legislation and council policies.
Input and extract information from various databases and online maps to assess the validity of challenges or appeals against penalty charge notices.
Process payments received by telephone and post, perform end-of-day banking and reconciliation procedures.
Support the training of new starters in various Customer Service Officer roles and perform other duties as required.
Proven experience as a Customer Service Officer or similar role, preferably in a related field.
Proficient in handling and processing sensitive data on computerised systems.
Ability to interpret information from databases and maps.
Experience in training and supporting new staff members is desirable.
