Financial Assessments and Benefits Coordinator

A Financial Assessments and Benefits Coordinator plays a key role in Adult Social Care Finance. This role is within the Assessments and Billing Team, and you will work alongside 8 other staff members and report to a Finance Team Lead.

The team is responsible for billing clients their assessed contribution for c are and support services arranged by the Council ( r esidential and n on- r esidential services). The team also completes financial assessment reviews for clients in permanent residential care in accordance with The Care Act 2014. The team operates a dedicated customer helpline for clients and their families , providing expert a dvice about care charges and account related queries .

The post holder must have excellent numeracy and keyboard skills as working quickly and accurately are essential for the role. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is essential for the role. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, conversations with clients may be challenging, therefore the ability to converse at ease is essential for the post.

Training will be carried out in an office setting followed by a hybrid style of working.

The post is based at County Hall, Morpeth.

Requirements of the role:

• A high standard of Maths and English .
• The ability to work at a fast pace.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
