Housekeeper/Light Cook/ PA – Hampstead, North London

£48,000–£55,000 per annum DOE | Monday–Friday | Immediate Start

A lovely private household in Hampstead, North London, is seeking an experienced and highly organised Housekeeper/Cook, ideally with light admin/PA duties to become a valued, long-term member of their family team.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys being hands-on and takes genuine pride in keeping a home beautifully organised. The position combines housekeeping, light cooking and some admin duties/PA work, making it ideal for a capable all-rounder who is confident managing the practical details of family life.

The family have recently relocated to London and are looking for someone warm, dependable and proactive who can settle into their home and become a trusted part of their day-to-day routine. They have a delightful 5-year-old daughter and a small, friendly family dog. You will liaise daily with their PA who is based abroad, arranging appointments, scheduling in meetings etc.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, with the family ideally looking for one of the following working patterns:

9.00am – 5.00pm or 9am – 6pm 

Housekeeping & Home Management

• Maintaining the family home to a consistently high standard

• Daily cleaning and general household upkeep

• Laundry, washing, ironing and clothing care

• Keeping bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas and kitchen beautifully presented

• Managing day-to-day domestic tasks and household lists

• Ensuring household supplies are monitored and replenished

• Helping keep the home organised, tidy and running efficiently

• Assisting with occasional family errands and practical household requirements

• Light family cooking and meal preparation would be welcomed

• Light household admin/PA support

The family are seeking a child-friendly Housekeeper/Cook who has worked with families before as there will at times be some care of a delightful 5 year old child but the mother is going to take on full responsibility for the child most of the time.

There is also a small, very friendly dog so all Housekeeper/Cooks applying for this role must be comfortable around dogs and happy to assist with the occasional practical aspect of the dog's care.

The family are looking for a polished yet down-to-earth professional who can focus on housekeeping, prepare light, healthy food and take on some additional admin duties when needed. Some childcare required on an ad hoc basis.

You will ideally have:

• At least 3 years' experience working in private households, preferably in London

• Strong housekeeping and home organisation skills

• Previous experience working with families with young children

• Good admin, basic IT skills

• Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail

• Strong spoken and written English

• The confidence to communicate professionally with contractors, service providers and others

• Excellent initiative and the ability to work autonomously

• A warm, approachable and genuinely caring personality

• A discreet, trustworthy and professional manner

• Flexibility and a positive, can-do attitude

• Confidence working around dogs

• A genuine interest in becoming a long-term member of a family household

The successful candidate will be someone who naturally notices what needs doing, is happy to take responsibility and enjoys creating an organised, comfortable and well-run home.

Candidates must:

• Have the right to work in the UK

• Be able to provide excellent written references

• Have previous experience in a comparable private household role

• Be available for an immediate start

• Be able to commute reliably to Hampstead, North London
