SENCO - Special Educational Needs Coordinator

Are you an experienced and passionate SENCO looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated SENCO to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you will play a key role in promoting the inclusion, progress, and wellbeing of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate the school's SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice and school policies.
* Identify pupils with additional needs and ensure appropriate support and interventions are put in place.
* Oversee the development, implementation, and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring outcomes and targets are effectively monitored.
* Work closely with teachers, Teaching Assistants, support staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure pupils' individual needs are met.
* Provide advice, guidance, and support to teachers and staff on effective strategies for supporting pupils with SEND.
* Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND interventions, using assessment and progress data to identify areas for improvement.
* Coordinate referrals and liaise with external agencies, including educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and other specialist services where appropriate.
* Support the school in developing inclusive teaching and learning strategies that enable all pupils to achieve their potential.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date SEND records, ensuring relevant documentation and reports are completed appropriately.
* Contribute to staff training and professional development relating to SEND and inclusive practice.
* Promote positive outcomes, inclusion, independence, and wellbeing for pupils with additional needs.
* Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times. Requirements * Strong knowledge and understanding of SEND legislation, the SEND Code of Practice, and EHCP processes.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong leadership and the ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external professionals.
* A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and improving outcomes for pupils with SEND.
* The ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate SEND documentation.
