We are currently seeking a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Hightown, Merseyside on a full-time basis, starting in September 2026 .

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every pupil can achieve their full potential. The Role
As a Teaching Assistant , you will support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and providing individual and small-group support to pupils across the primary age range. You will help create a positive learning environment, encourage pupil participation, and contribute to the academic, social, and emotional development of children.
Key Responsibilities
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the curriculum.
Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils to reinforce learning and build confidence.
Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and learning activities.
Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
Support pupils with varying learning needs, adapting your approach where appropriate.
Encourage positive behaviour and promote the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies.
Assist with classroom organisation, displays, and general administrative tasks as required.
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to support children's progress and wellbeing.
Supervise pupils during break times, educational visits, and other school activities when required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, or similar educational setting is desirable.
A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential.
A positive, patient, and supportive approach to working with children.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required.
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
