Assistant Head: Academic Standards and Assessment - April '27 or Sept '27 start

We are delighted to invite applications for the post of Assistant Head: Academic Standards and Assessment at Hurlingham School . This is a Senior Leadership Team position , combined with an Upper Key Stage 2 class teacher role . The appointment will commence in either April or September 2027 , depending on the availability of the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will be an exemplary educational practitioner who will embrace the core values of Hurlingham, provide thoughtful and collaborative leadership, and play a key role in the next phase of the School’s development. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and highly organised leader to help strengthen academic rigour across the School, with particular responsibility for assessment, reporting, monitoring and the response to identified learning gaps.

In addition, the successful candidate will also possess strong academic credibility, excellent professional judgement and the ability to support and challenge colleagues constructively. They will work closely with the Head, SLT, Heads of Section, the Academic Team, the Head of Learning Support and Middle Leaders to ensure that every pupil is supported and challenged to make strong progress.
