Higher Level Teaching Assistant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Working with teachers to plan and prepare lessons including evaluating work and students’ progress;
- Covering PPA and in the absence of a Class Teacher;
- Working with a child’s strengths and weaknesses to support their development and progress;
- Helping to create and maintain a safe learning environment which supports the learning of all pupils;
- Providing progress, achievement and behavioural feedback on pupils;
- Identifying the needs of individuals and groups within the class, taking note of individual education plans and liaising with the SENCO as required;
- Assisting teacher with curriculum and learning activities;
- Reporting on the progress made by pupils;
- Assisting teachers in offering guidance to support staff;
- Preparing and developing resources for learning activities;
- Attending staff meetings and contributing to the development of the school;
- Salary is paid to scale weekly through PAYE;

Requirements:
- Experience of working as a teaching assistant;
- Hold nationally recognised qualifications at level 2 or above in literacy and numeracy;
- Be registered with the EWC;
- Completed level 4 qualification or equivalent OR have relevant experience for the role;
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained;
- A proactive approach to the role;
- Able to commit to the role for the full term;
- Minimum of a Level 4 qualification;
- Experience working with pupils in KS1;
- You must have legal right to work in the UK;
- You must be willing to attend a registration interview.
