Senior Highways/Drainage Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Highways/Drainage Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the project brief and AECOM’s quality procedures;
- Take a lead role on project elements within your particular skill area;
- Prepare detailed client briefs, fee proposals, technical responses and study reports for Manager Approval;
- Act as a Deputy Project Manager (once accredited) as necessary including costing and programming studies and monitoring financial performance;
- Support team manager in mentoring junior staff;
- Provide technical input to highway/drainage schemes including design, drawing production and technical report writing;
- Liaise with sub-consultants and external parties as required;
- Attend internal and external Project Progress meetings, as required;
- Undertake site visits as required.
Requirements:
- Awareness of H&S Legislation and the CDM Regulations;
- Excellent technical and communication skills;
- Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline;
- A graduate (or equivalent) and working towards Incorporated or Chartered membership of an appropriate professional institution;
- Demonstrable experience in highways and/or drainage design at conceptual, preliminary and detailed design stages;
- Experience in use of software such as AutoCAD, Civils 3D, MX, PDS, WinDES, and the Microsoft Office Suite of programmes.
