Senior Process Engineer

The Senior Process Engineer collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. Develops and optimizes continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization. Being a Senior Process Engineer recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials. Identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve. In addition, Senior Process Engineer may act as a knowledge resource and guide for less experienced engineers. May work on processes for new or more complex products. Requires a bachelor’s degree of engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Being a Senior Process Engineer contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Working as a Senior Process Engineer typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in creating proposals for projects through coordination of proposal documents and engineering estimates;
  • Mentor and manage junior process engineers if required;
  • POCO and care and maintenance projects;
  • Key discipline contributor in Feasibility and Optioneering Studies;
  • Develop innovative ideas and alternatives to be cost competitive with Proposals;
  • Management of third party suppliers in the execution of Engineering delivery;
  • Assist in developing plant control philosophy;
  • Perform process simulations and develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s), P&I Diagrams and Mass Balances;
  • Calculate plant recoveries and utility requirements. Recommend Guarantee Levels;
  • Perform a thorough review of customer’s enquiry and/or Request for Process Design information;
  • Hazard Identification Studies;
  • Participate in audits and incident investigations as required;
  • Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development;
  • Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement;
  • Decommissioning projects.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the Water Sector working as a Process Engineer;
  • Waste retrieval and treatment;
  • Key discipline contributor in Feasibility and Optioneering Studies;
  • General knowledge and experience of risk assessment elements;
  • POCO and care and maintenance projects;
  • Technical assessment;
  • Able to work in a team environment (Engineering, Purchasing, Estimating, etc.);
  • Ability to work to deadlines with good prioritization and time management skills;
  • Hazard Identification Studies;
  • Effective communications skills both written and verbal for interface with Clients and co-workers;
  • Good computer literacy, with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Process Design Development;
  • BSc. Engineering degree or equivalent;
  • Decommissioning projects.
