Our company is looking for a Fire Risk Assessor to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review simple fire strategies for a range of buildings;
  • Review client’s requirements, produce simple fee proposals and calculate applicable fees;
  • Undertake regular communication with our Client’s team to co-ordinate programmes of inspections and remedial works;
  • Carry out programmes of inspection and remedial works;
  • Cover London and Berkshire areas;
  • Problem solving working to fixed budgets and working within tight deadlines;
  • Coach the team’s Risk Management Officers to share Best Practice;
  • Undertaking Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with nationally recognised standards (PAS79) under our BAFE SP205 Accreditation;
  • Supporting on the development of Fire Safety Strategy reports for Premises;
  • Development of Fire Risk Assessment reports; Hazard Identification;
  • Support other Compliance Delivery Team members as appropriate;
  • Represent the Council at Committees and internal and external meetings and provide advice and as and when required;
  • Authorise and Sign off Fire risk assessments before submission to clients;
  • Provide advice in connection with applications for Building Regulations Approval on Fire Related matters;
  • Attendance of internal team meetings and external team meetings with contractors.

Requirements:

  • Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (IFPO);
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Health & Safety at an operational level;
  • Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM);
  • A current, full UK driving licence;
  • Bafe sp 205;
  • IFE Fire risk assessor – Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE);
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Building Regulations, Disabled Access, Fire, CDM and Health & Safety Legislation;
  • Fire Service College Fire Risk Assessment Competent Person (FSC);
  • Effective use of IT and media as appropriate.
