Cloud Architect Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Cloud Architect to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Execute cloud strategy development and migration projects;
- Design of AWS Cloud environments;
- Day-to-day lead the development team through the technical challenges of Cloud and DevOps transformation;
- Responsible for design, development and evolution of the cloud infrastructure in support of requirements and traffic growth;
- 2+ years working as a GCP certified architect;
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions for distributed systems and applications;
- Definition of cloud policies, particularly relating to security and local regulations;
- Hands-on expertise of containerisation technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes and Helm;
- Lead the discovery, assessment, planning and delivery of applications as they migrate to the cloud;
- Manage the technical relationship between the company and key cloud infrastructure vendors;
- 8+ Years professional experience with at least 4 years of experience as a cloud architect;
- Review existing cloud implementations, identify gaps and suggest improvements;
- Responsible for reviewing industry trends and identifying relevant solutions to successfully meet the strategic requirements of the company;
- Responsible for the evaluation of cloud applications, hardware and software;
- Define the cloud strategy, evaluating the options for hosted or on-premises, and manage the adaption from existing systems.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of multiple, development/Scripting languages such as PowerShell ,Bash, Ruby, Python and Node.js is desirable;
- Ability to pick new trends in technology and build campaigns within customer;
- Proven ability to converse with all levels within client organization;
- Strong IT consulting experience of AWS Cloud based Solutions;
- Be part of Pre-sales team if required – prior experience desirable;
- Avid technologist, with deep expertise in a major Cloud platform (Oracle Cloud, AWS and Google Cloud in use currently);
- Strong communication skills, ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly language;
- Develop and maintain data sourcing and data roadmaps that will reduce red tape and scale commercial use cases;
- Experience in technical leadership roles at a consulting/professional services company, cloud provider or customer environment in Enterprise;
- Align programmes, strategy and roadmaps to single data lakes with common data models;
- Hands-on expertise of containerisation technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes and Helm;
- Background in GCP design, development and implementation; demonstrable use of a wide range of GCP services;
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Influence the development of cloud-based (GCP) architecture to best fit the business;
- Good understanding of CI / CD processes and tools.
