Control Software Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Control Software Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake Site based commissioning work;
- Control and instrumentation systems functional specification and design, PLC system software configuration;
- Executing full lifecycle software development;
- Specifications, P&IDs, Control philosophies, Instrument schedules and Control system & communications block diagrams;
- Liaison with clients both internal and external;
- Undertake site surveys of existing installations;
- Production of control and instrumentation design documentation and drawings including;
- Writing well designed, testable, efficient code;
- Integrate software components into a fully functional software system;
- Tailor and deploy software tools, processes and metrics;
- Comply with project plans and industry standards;
- Documenting and maintaining software functionality;
- Understanding, interpreting and responding to the needs of other departments.
Requirements:
- Good keyboard skills and IT literacy (ideally Word, Excel and Access);
- Good organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail;
- PLC5;
- Must be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of colleagues;
- Allen Bradley ControlLogix;
- Work within our established Quality Management System, ISO9001:2001 TickIT;
- Ability to cope under pressure;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Development;
- Water industry advantageous but not essential;
- Ability to work on own initiative without supervision;
- Good forward planning skills;
- Must be able to deliver projects on time and within budget;
