Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. Coordinate changes to computer databases. May plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.

Our company is looking for a Database Administrator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Merging duplicated records into one record;
  • Performing upgrades and installations of databases;
  • Collating information for the Lead Generator to set up appointments;
  • Gathering information from the Lead Generator following appointments to update the database;
  • Reviewing records within the database;
  • Adding records where required;
  • Coordinate and help to implement database changes for in-house code releases and for database maintenance releases;
  • Managing spreadsheets;
  • Help the Senior DBA implement and maintain policies and procedures for database administration;
  • Ideally have experience with the implementation, maintenance and support of a NoSQL environment;
  • Get hands on with query and system optimisation work;
  • Assisting the Database Supervisor with any ad-hoc tasks;
  • Updating RMS system;
  • Identifying potential problems, highlighting issues to the Supervisor and recommending ways to address those issues;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production database issues.

Requirements:

  • GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above in Maths and English;
  • Good self organisation;
  • Keyboard skills – Word/Excel/Outlook;
  • Numerate;
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative focused field;
  • T-SQL;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Conscientious positive outlook and motivational attitude towards other staff;
  • MCES;
  • Project focus;
  • Proven ability to write clear documentation and articles for end-user and technical-user use;
  • DBA;
  • Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Ability to work with a diverse user base and external 3rd parties;
  • A relevant university degree preferred.
