Design chemical plant equipment and devise processes for manufacturing chemicals and products, such as gasoline, synthetic rubber, plastics, detergents, cement, paper, and pulp, by applying principles and technology of chemistry, physics, and engineering.

Our company is looking for a Development Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply domain expertise to the design, development and delivery of new products & technologies;
  • Continued development of discipline competence and expertise;
  • Optical and mechanical design of improved optical heads;
  • Collaboration with IPT members to address project requirements;
  • Developing new and improved control methodology and systems;
  • Further developing our Optical Printing Technology for HOEs;
  • Identification of opportunities for improvement in discipline processes, practices and tools;
  • Developing and releasing new test methodologies;
  • Collaboration with discipline peers within the BU and across the enterprise to share and learn best practice;
  • Experience of development engineering and product qualification within a tightly regulated aerospace environment ;
  • Generating concepts for complex products, designing prototype systems and creating specifications;
  • Propose new technologies, materials and processes to maintain and grow our technology differentiations;
  • Significant experience in Test;
  • Application of, and compliance with, engineering processes and practices including the engineering framework, LCM and regulatory requirements;
  • Propose and develop new products and contribute to technical proposals.

Requirements:

  • Collaboration with IPT members to address project requirements;
  • Experience of development engineering and product qualification within a tightly regulated aerospace environment ;
  • 5 years in a similar engineering role;
  • Experience of designing to SEMI standards is desirable;
  • Production Engineering of components and assemblies;
  • Propose new technologies, materials and processes to maintain and grow our technology differentiations;
  • Identification of opportunities for improvement in discipline processes, practices and tools;
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement or NPI – Demonstrable participation in product introductions would be advantageous;
  • Skilled in the use of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software e.g. SmarTeam, MAPICS, SAP;
  • Qualification Testing in an Aerospace Environment;
  • Experience in the testing of designs;
  • Root cause analysis;
  • Some experience in the use of a range of engineering materials and with a number of manufacturing methods/techniques;
  • Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA);
  • Knowledge of Airworthiness Regulations.
