Site Chemist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Site Chemist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the safe allocation and storage of various waste categories;
- Dealing with third party enquiries and issues in person and by phone /email;
- Ensuring that all site operations are carried out in compliance with all Health and Safety requirements;
- Testing, inspecting and approving incoming loads of waste;
- Managing all relevant paperwork and compiling electronic information where required;
- Designating routes for incoming waste;
- Ensuring compliance with legislation in the transportation, handling and disposal of waste;
- Providing laboratory and analytical support for all site operations;
- Supervising the safe transfer of waste to reduce risk of contamination;
- Input control;
- Assisting with process supervision and plant operations;
- Process authorisation;
- Ensuring that all appropriate documentation is supplied for outgoing waste;
- Liaising with multifunctional teams to support waste transfer targets;
- Requires a hands-on person capable of mostly outdoor work (in an industrial environment).- Some laboratory work.
Requirements:
- WAMITAB Level 4 (4TMH or 4TSH);
- Hands on and methodical, organised with attention to detail;
- Positive and motivated with flexible and adaptable attitude;
- Logical in approach with the ability to analyse data and formulate action plans;
- Proactive and safety focused approach;
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively and to plan and manage own agenda;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective and positive working relationships within and outside of the department.
