Housing Officer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Housing Officer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Helping tenants sustain their tenancies;
- Monitoring rent arrears;
- Periodic safety checks and surveys of properties;
- Fire safety knowledge and practice;
- Ensuring the referral processes are fair when undertaking interviews;
- Assisting in legal action on behalf of the Association to secure injunctions through the Magistrates Court to prevent breaches in tenancy;
- Conducting viewings with prospective tenants;
- Liaising with tenants to deal with any queries they had in relation to their properties;
- Managing tenant rent accounts;
- Managing Anti-Social Behaviour;
- Oversee lettings, interviews and inductions for non-supported residents;
- Work collaboratively with all hostel colleagues;
- Investigating low level cases of ASB;
- Conducting estate inspections to ensure that the estates are up to standard;
- Liaise with Housing Benefit departments and maximised income generation.
Requirements:
- Previous housing/property experience;
- High degree of initiative;
- Good office administration and organisational skills;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Flexible and adaptable;
- Full driving licence and a car owner;
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office Software;
- Smart professional presentation.
