Our company is looking for a Planning Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Question the project to ensure delivery is in line with all company, regional and project business targets;
  • Assisting Delivery Director to recruit to the resource plan;
  • Translating business plans into long term resource plans;
  • Coordinating plant and material requirements;
  • Understanding and achieving specific targets regarding vehicle utilisation for core vehicles;
  • Inputting to the business planning and budgeting process;
  • Ensure daily/weekly workload planning and volume forecasting routines are accomplished (i.e. staffing, equipment, space);
  • Ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for team members;
  • Reporting on KPIs such as deliveries on time, labour efficiency, utilisation, re-work etc;
  • Planning for events and peak trade;
  • Point of contact for all strategic planning schedules created with the customer and driving efficiency’s within the operation;
  • To ensure that schedules are received, analysed and monitored for all customers within team;
  • Team training and development / succession planning;
  • Coordinating Local Authority street works permits and traffic management requirements;
  • Creating daily/weekly work programmes maximising delivery on time and labour efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the development and implementation of, Planning Standards and Planning processes;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Prior experience in planning function in civil engineering projects;
  • Knowledge of Safety, Environment and Risk Management;
  • Degree in civil engineering or an appropriate qualification;
  • Reporting to the Project Director;
  • Appropriate CSCS card;
  • Extensive experience in obtaining planning permission for residential development sites, including brownfi eld sites;
  • Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (tHNC/NVQ4);
  • Personal qualities of energy, enthusiasm and a hunger to win are important;
  • Experience of working with supply chain and having interaction with customers and communities;
  • Experience of reading and accurately interpreting drawings, specification and other construction information;
  • Experience of accurate programming and sequencing from outputs;
  • Relevant qualification – preferably MRTPI;
  • A thorough knowledge of the end to end planning process including negotiating planning conditions.
